Villa Moselle is located in Litzig, a district of Traben-Trarbach, and was built in the 18th century. The former owners extended the house with an addition in 1969. The family’s daughter married and moved to France in the 1970s, living in Paris for 30 years. After her husband’s death, she sold her house in Paris and returned home to the Moselle. In 2006, she invested the proceeds from the Paris sale in a complete renovation of her parents’ home, which was nearly a quarter of a millennium old.
With love and great taste, she brought a touch of French country house style into the design and furnishing of the house and park-like garden. Even today, her meticulousness and savoir vivre can be felt throughout the property. She was delighted to have found in the Reis family someone who appreciates the beauty of the estate and will carry the house forward into the future in her spirit.
We, Nicole and Achim Reis, are passionate steep-slope vintners. Working in our family-owned steep-slope winery (www.reisfeineweine.de) keeps us fully occupied. In 2021, Villa Moselle suddenly entered our lives: unexpectedly, we were offered the opportunity to acquire this charming little dream house from an elderly lady. Spontaneously and emotionally, we seized this opportunity. Thus we faced the challenge of managing this wonderful new place that would enrich our lives with much beauty, excitement, possibilities, costs, and work.
After careful consideration, we decided to renovate the house and rent it to you, dear guests, for relaxation and enjoyment. You have the opportunity to experience our beloved Moselle directly and intimately in one of the most beautiful places we can imagine for a vacation.
We look forward to your visit and wish you a wonderful time!
